Do you like to write poetry? Are you a fan of human rights, a believer in the intrinsic value of every human on this blue-green earth?

If you are a current student of Portland Community College, we invite you to submit a poem inspired by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights to the 2011 PCC Humans Rights Poetry Contest by December 1st.

The winners will be selected by a panel of Portland poets, and each winner will receive a small prize during the event.

To submit, please send your poems to humanrightsday2011 at gmail.com. Include a short bio and an explanation of which portion of the UDHR served as inspiration for your poem.

There are no restrictions on what kind of poetry can be submitted, as long as it was inspired by or fits within the scope of the UDHR. We look forward to reading your work.
